Timely Tip

The “Wizard of Whenã” believes using the R.A!R.A! Approachã to meeting management will positively impact the attitudes of meeting attendees while increasing the effectiveness of the  meeting.  What is the R.A!R.A! Approachã?  It is assigning Roles, setting an Agenda, keeping Records, and having accountability for assigned Actions.

Computer Clue

Having a pre-defined format for meeting minutes will make it easier for meeting members and other interested parties to find the meeting results they need.  Using the pre-defined minute format on word-processing software can speed the production of meeting records.  To speed the minute distribution process, use email attachments of the word-processing software rather than paper copies.

Quick Quote

“Keep things informal. Talking is the natural way to do business. Writing is great for keeping records and putting down details, but talk generates ideas. Great things come from our luncheon meetings which consist of a sandwich, a cup of soup, and a good idea or two. No martinis.”  - T. Boone Pickens
